AC Power UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) Installable
in Hazardous Zone 1 Area

The iUPS101 Uninterruptible Power Supply system is certified for use in ATEX and IECEx Zone 1
and 2 hazardous areas. It provides back up power to protect critical equipment, such as instrumentation
and control systems, navigation or landing lighting, or blow out prevention systems, in the event of a
blackout or brownout.

  • ATEX & IECEx Zone 1 and 2 certified
  • Provides back up power for critical equipment in hazardous areas
  • Modular design, allowing for added back up time
  • Rugged IP66 system for industrial environments
  • -20°C to +55°C depending on load

Protect critical equipment

The iUPS101 provides reliable back up power to ensure that vital equipment – such as
instrumentation and control systems, navigation or landing lighting, and blow out prevention
systems – remain operational in the event of a blackout or brownout.

Modular design

Designed to be wall mounted, the iUPS101 UPS system includes an aluminium alloy or stainless
steel Ex d charger/inverter enclosure, a stainless steel Ex e close coupled enclosure, and a battery
enclosure of your choice. This could be the stainless steel iBATT100 Ex e battery enclosure
containing maintenance-free valve regulated lead acid batteries or a tailored option from
our iBATT5xx range, which can include lead acid, nickel cadmium, and nickel iron batteries
and is scalable to suit your application requirements.

Extended back up power and multiple configuration options

The modular design means that the load and back up time can be tailored for your
application – it depends on the battery unit you choose to work alongside the iUPS101.

For example, using the iBATT100 gives you up to 87 minutes with a 3kVA load at 20°C. If you choose the iBATT5xx
range, this back up time can be increased to support your requirements. The iUPS101’s modular design also
allows 2 complete additional iUPS101 units to be attached, creating systems to support higher loads or
provide redundancy.

Easy installation and set up

Access to incoming and outgoing cables is easy – the Ex e enclosure is close coupled to the
Ex d enclosure via cable bushings, so there is no need to open the Ex d enclosure. The Ex d enclosure
has a glass window to show alarm and status information, and comes complete with door mounted Ex d buttons to configure
the UPS display and program the two volt free auxiliary contact to use system or alarm
information. The iUPS101 also includes advanced battery charge control for increased battery life.
